Vegetable Glycerin (VG) vs. Propylene Glycol (PG): The Battle Of Preferences

Posted by

Anyone who has been vaping for a extended period of time has heard of the term VG to PG ratio, or their scientific names Vegetable Glycerin and Propylene Glycol respectively. But many of those who are just beginning to indulge into vaping most likely have never heard of either, except for maybe Propylene Glycol and its use controversial use in the popular alcoholic beverage "Fireball".

This ratio may be one of the most important and distinguishing factors in choosing your e-liquid. Many people say that higher VG gives you a more natural taste, while PG gives you a more synthetic flavor. Ultimately, it comes down to preference and what you value more, strong flavor or large clouds with slightly less flavor. Either way the best way to determine what ratio you like most is to try numerous ratios and go from there.

How VG relates to vaping: Thicker vapor, less flavor generally and more clouds. Typically used in dripping devices and can sometimes crack tank styled vaporizers.

How PG relates to vaping: Thinner vapor, more flavor and stronger throat hit. It is important to note that some people are allergic to PG.

How does this relate to Roxwell E-Liquids

- Roxwell E-Liquids come in various VG/PG ratios ranging from our predominately PG flavors like classic and new mint at 70PG/30VG to our cream based flavors which are typically 40PG/60VG.

* Each ratio can be found on each of our e-liquid product descriptions and unlike many other companies you do not need to pay for extra flavor shots because our flavors come with them to give you a intense flavor that will leave you wanting more.

What we recommend: Typically we recommend if someone is trying to stop smoking cigarettes we often suggest trying our tobacco flavors that have a relatively strong throat hit, similar to the feeling a cigarette creates. On the other hand if you are beginning to indulge into vaping for the sake of it, we suggest trying flavors with higher VG because of their decreased throat hit.
